Pigment camouflage
Commonly treated
Flat scars, stretch marks, patches where colour has gone, whatever brought you here, it belongs in this room. Pigment camouflage brings colour back with pigment matched precisely to you, at a pace that’s yours.
Pigment camouflage uses custom-blended tattoo pigment to bring colour back to flat scars and skin affected by hypopigmentation, or to even out darker, hyperpigmented tissue. We match the pigment precisely to your surrounding skin tone, so the result settles in and ages naturally alongside it.
It suits flat, smooth scars, including self-harm, surgical, facelift and tummy tuck scars, burns and skin grafts, as well as white or silver stretch marks and vitiligo.
Before you book
Pricing, sessions, healing and who this suits. Every plan is confirmed at your complimentary consultation, with no obligation.
Pricing
$300 to $699 per area, depending on the size of the area and the complexity of the scarring or pigment loss. Your quote is confirmed at your complimentary consultation.
Sessions
Most cases need 2 to 4 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart depending on the ultimate goal, to let your skin heal in between. Each session is private, and we work at your pace.
Healing & downtime
Expect initial healing over one to two weeks, with light flaking as the skin settles. The true colour shows over the following four to six weeks. We’ll walk you through aftercare at your appointment.
Contraindications
We may need to wait, adjust your plan or ask for medical clearance if you:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding
- are having chemotherapy or radiation, or have recently finished
- have an active skin infection, rash, cold sore or open wound in the area
- have a scar that is still red, raised or less than about 12 months old
- have a history of keloid scarring
- have a bleeding disorder, take blood thinners, or have uncontrolled diabetes
Is this right for me?
Book a complimentary consultationPigment camouflage works best on flat, smooth skin. If there’s texture, Restorative Needling is usually the better starting point. If the area is darker rather than lighter, see Dark Scar & Pigmentation.
Often a combination of restorative needling and pigment is used to create hyper-realistic results, as creating the illusion of skin means reshaping the way texture, light and colour reveal themselves.
