Get to know the treatment
Areola reconstruction and areola blushing at Resolute Repair Tattoo restores natural colour and dimension to the nipple areola complex, for male, female and non binary clients alike.
We address colour loss and tissue change that can follow necrosis, surgical trauma or cancer treatment, using a considered combination of restorative needling and pigment camouflage suited to your healing and skin. Pigment is layered gradually across multiple sessions, allowing colour to build and settle true to your natural tone rather than forcing a result in one sitting.
Whether you’re restoring areola colour and shape after mastectomy, breast surgery or significant scarring, each session is planned around your own anatomy and history, with results that are realistic, enduring and entirely your own.

Your quote is confirmed at your complimentary consultation.
Sessions
Pigment is layered gradually across multiple sessions, usually two, spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. Where restorative needling is needed first to soften scar tissue, those sessions are spaced 6 to 10 weeks apart. We plan the order and number of sessions with you at your consultation.
Healing & downtime
The area may feel tender for up to 72 hours, and colour looks darker at first. Light peeling around days five to ten is normal. The true result shows around four to six weeks after each session.
Contraindications
We may need to wait, adjust your plan or ask for medical clearance if you:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding
- are having chemotherapy or radiation, or have recently finished
- have an active skin infection, rash, cold sore or open wound in the area
- have a scar that is still red, raised or less than about 12 months old
- have a history of keloid scarring
- have a bleeding disorder, take blood thinners, or have uncontrolled diabetes
Is this right for me?
Book a complimentary consultationAreola reconstruction suits anyone whose areola has lost colour, shape or definition after mastectomy, breast surgery, necrosis or significant scarring. Areola blushing suits anyone wanting to restore or enhance the colour of their own areola. Scars need to be fully healed before we begin, and we’ll assess this at your consultation.
